Mano a Mano, a musical group of five Cuban men is touring the United States following the improvements in relations between the two countries.

Their name means One Hand at a Time and they are Cuba’s first gay men’s chorus. They formed in 2014, established connections with groups in the U.S. and are now on a tour.

The band was co-founded by Fermin Rojas, a Fort Lauderdale-based filmmaker who was born in Cuba. Rojas was visiting the island in 2013 to film a documentary about Cuban painters when the idea came to him to corral the amazing voices from his homeland. He and his husband started holding auditions in Havana, and in 2014 selected the five men who would make up the band.
