Uruguay’s Parliament has voted to allow adoptions by gay and lesbian couples, a first in Latin America. The law has now gone to the Senate, where it originated, for final clearance, reports AFP.
“We’re deeply happy,” said Mauricio Coitino of the Black Sheep Collective of gays, lesbians and transsexuals.
