Rent boy alleges affair with married judge

Judge Gerald Price, QC, 60, is alleged to have had an intimate relationship with 25-year-old Christopher Williams, a £250-a-night rent boy, report a number of papers today with relish.
Mr Williams alleged in a newspaper report yesterday that the senior circuit judge from south Wales set him up with a flat and paid him an allowance. [...]

Matthew Paris, writing in The Times, thinks so. He compares pre liberation Britain with all its secrecy and furtiveness and threat to the in -your-face-gaydar-liberated gay scene of today and misses the ‘intimacy and camaraderie that came with prohibition and social danger.’

Councillor banned for demons remark

Bill Pritchard, former town councillor in Barmouth, Gwynedd has been disqualified for 12 months after referring to homosexuality as a “notorious disability” and as “a demon which can be driven out”. Mr Pritchard is an evangelical Methodist.
Canterbury is gay friendly, then. Official, says ombudsman

Complaints by Canterbury Pride that Canterbury is not gay friendly because it doesn’t have a gay scene have been dismissed by the local government ombudsman, reports the BBC and others today.
The Local Government Ombudsman said an investigation had found no grounds for Canterbury Pride’s claims, adding the organisation had been given funding by the council.

AFP have been to New York on the fortieth anniversary of the Stonewall Riot which heralded the start of campaigns for gay equality in the USA and led to the start of Gay Prides.
The uprising ‘rocked the neighborhood for five consecutive nights, as homosexuals fought back against police raids targeting gay-friendly establishments.’

Civil Partnerships for Ireland

The Irish government today published its very long awaited Civil Partnership Bill. The Irish Council for Civil Liberties welcomed the Bill. Activists in Ireland say the Bill does not go far enough and gays and lesbians deserve full Marriage equality.
